“This is a wonderful shelving unit. I bought the wide one in teak finish. It came expertly packed with each piece wrapped and protected. I am so impressed with the directions for assembly. Very clear, well illustrated and with simple steps. Everything fit precisely and snugly. It’s a heavy unit so I assembled it on a low table and then set it upright with help. (I’m a 62 year old woman.) The backing sections are light weight and I considered not installing them, but it looked unfinished. Once they were on, they looked terrific. The rest of the unit is solid wood with each piece made from joined pieces. It looks spectacular!! My one and only complaint is in trying to remove the warning label from the interior of the right side piece, I scratched the wood! (It should be made with the glue that is easily peeled off.) Was looking at a similar piece from a high end retailer, but decided to take a chance on this – so glad I did! The back pieces are somewhat flimsy, but when assembled and up against the wall, the back looks solid. Don’t recommend if you plan to place it where it will be seen from behind.
