“I bought this knowing that there were lots of reviews warning of the assembly effort and number of pieces that come with this item. They weren’t kidding around. The lamp shade alone has 72 pieces to create the loops (which you can slot in after you painstakingly put together the actual shade base), and the 3 leg stands are made up of 4 pieces each. Pretty clever product design in that it arrived in a surprisingly small box, and all the pieces arrived perfectly packed, with some extra pieces in case you screw up. The assembly instructions are fairly simple, you just need to mentally psych yourself the same way you look at a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. There is some serious fiddling needed to put together the shade, with the mammoth effort being having to slot 72 loops into the shade base. A glass of wine or two is recommended – jabbing those plastic loops into the tiny slots takes its toll. A little bit of effort is needed to make sure the four pieces that form the legs are lined up straight. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the lamp cord wasn’t red as per some of the reviews here, but were instead white, as well as the light bulb that was included. After lots of jabbing and screwing bits in place, the overall product is really beautiful and this lamp that I was originally going to put in our guest room, has superceded another lamp and has moved into our living area.
